COVID-19 in Children

SARS-CoV-2 causes COVID-19, sharing a 2 to 14-day incubation period for children and adults. Children may manifest non-specific symptoms, a subset of symptoms, or remain asymptomatic. Predominant symptoms include cough and fever, with up to 50% of pediatric infections potentially being asymptomatic. While 16% of infected children may show no symptoms, COVID-19 manifestations in children resemble those of various infections, making diagnosis challenging due to their similar, non-specific nature.
